Congressman Shashi Tharoor criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for his statement claiming that the Congress will give money to Muslims, branding it a “nakedly communal appeal.”
In Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram seat, Tharoor is running for Lok Sabha, and he claims that “any civilised” Election Commission would not allow or warn the candidate for making such remarks.
“The Prime Minister gave a pretty deplorable speech. People are realizing that his statement that the Congress party will seize all of your riches and donate it to Muslims is nothing more than an overtly communal plea. It’s just not right, Tharoor said to the news agency ANI.
PM Modi’s speech left Tharoor “truly disappointed,” he declared. “Mr. Modi keeps accusing the Congress party of ruling the country for 65 years.” Have we transferred money from individuals to the Muslim community? In what manner is the Prime Minister able to speak?
During a Sunday election rally in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi declared that the Congress intended to provide hard-earned money and gold to “those who have more children” and “infiltrators.” He continued by asking the assembly if they felt that the old party’s “taking their hard-earned property” was “acceptable.”
The Congress manifesto states that it will gather information, compute the gold with mothers and sisters, and then share that property. The government of Manmohan Singh had declared that Muslims had the first claim to the nation’s resources, therefore they will give it to whomever they like, Modi added.
He went on, “The Congress government has previously stated that Muslims have the first claim to the nation’s resources. In other words, who will receive this property? It will be divided up among people with more kids. It is going to be given to the spies.
The Congress countered that it supports a “comprehensive socio-economic caste census” and stated that its platform makes no mention of “redistribution.”
