Orange alert for Haryana and Punjab and yellow alert for Chandigarh: IMD issues alert amid strong temperatures.

With temperatures crossing over 40- degree mark over several states in India, the Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has issued, Orange alert to Southern parts of Harayana and Punjab and Yellow alert for Chandigarh.
They have given people warning of “sevear heat waves” and “heatwave conditions: espically marking the dates of 18 and 19 May.

However an Orange alert means people should be “prepared” and Yellow means people should be “updated”.
Accprding to IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to touch 46-degree on May 18 and 19.

The temperature is expected to cross 44- degree Celcious over the weekend in Chandigarh, which is 6.5 degree above than normal temperature.
