In Cooch Behar, tensions escalated as voting for the Lok Sabha polls commenced, with clashes erupting between supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Reports emerged of alleged bombing incidents in the Bhoterhat Madhya Falmari area of Booth No. 4/37 within the Cooch Behar Dakshin Assembly constituency, implicating the TMC.
Following these reports, authorities discovered nine live bombs at the site of the incident on Friday morning. Prompt police intervention ensured the containment and safe disposal of the explosives, though the incident added to the already charged atmosphere surrounding the elections in the region.
