Mumbai Man Arrested for Surveillance on an eminent Trinamool Congress Leader.

According to an official statement, the Calcutta Police Special Task Force and detective department recently apprehended an individual named Rajaram Rege in Mumbai. Rege stands accused of allegedly conducting reconnaissance missions around the residence and offices of prominent Trinamool Congress leader, Abhishek Banerjee.

The investigation revealed that Rege had obtained the mobile phone numbers of both Banerjee and his personal assistant and attempted to establish contact with them.Further details unveiled that Rege had previously visited Kolkata, where he stayed at a hotel located in the Shakespeare Sarani area, before eventually returning to Mumbai. The officer overseeing the case emphasized that Rege is facing serious charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation.

Additionally, it was revealed that Rege had purportedly interacted with infamous Mumbai terror prime accused David Headley, among others, in the past. This detail adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation, suggesting potential connections to broader criminal networks.
